Gabija Bubnytė is interested in the entanglements between research and visual arts.
CURRENTLY:
starting a PhD at ISP laboratory on Deconstructing the ‘post-Soviet’ category abroad through cultural diplomacy practices of the Lithuanian diaspora and cultural professionals in France.
PREVIOUSLY:
graduate of the PDI Master (Pratique de l’interdisciplinarité en sciences sociales) at ENS-EHESS.
graduate of the Rotterdam Arts & Sciences Lab (RASL) dual degree (combining International Relations and Politics at EUC and Graphic Design at WdKA).

Une langue au contact was developed in a workshop on translation at ENSAD. The graphics explore a Lithuanian database of newly created words and dissect which languages these words come from, what categories they find themselves and how they interact with each other. Mapping these words out illustrates how a language is always in conversation with others and how the words that are adopted are never neutral.
